Partners and collaborators

Independence isn't isolation.

DriveAwareness publishes independently — no ideological or commercial sponsors influence what we file. The work is stronger, though, with the right institutional partners. Four tracks below; we're actively building each.

Academic

Co-authored research, replication kits, IRB-friendly data handling, and joint analyses across communications, sociology, public health, and law schools. We provide source-traceable datasets and methodology documentation; partners contribute domain expertise, peer review, and student researchers.

What it looks like

  • ·University-hosted replication kits for published cases
  • ·Joint working papers on AI moderation behavior
  • ·Student investigative cohorts (semester-length engagements)
  • ·Open-data archives mirrored under university libraries

State & federal

Public-record agencies, state libraries, attorney-general consumer-protection units, and federal research bodies (NSF SBE, NIH, NEH, NIST). We mirror open data, file FOIA-style requests, and publish briefings sized for policy staff rather than press.

What it looks like

  • ·Co-archived public-record sets with state libraries
  • ·Methodology briefings for AG consumer-protection units
  • ·Federal grant collaborations on civic-data research
  • ·Standardized data formats for cross-jurisdiction comparison

Foundations

Civic-infrastructure funders concerned with democratic resilience, narrative integrity, AI governance, and platform accountability. Multi-year operating grants and project-restricted gifts both fit the work.

What it looks like

  • ·Multi-year operating support for editorial independence
  • ·Restricted gifts tied to specific investigative threads
  • ·Named research fellowships
  • ·Cohort funding alongside peer civic-tech grantees

Editorial

Independent newsrooms, public broadcasters, and nonprofit dailies. We publish stories with receipts; partners syndicate, co-report, or pick up the underlying data for their own coverage. Attribution is always traceable; partners get exhibit access ahead of publication on agreed embargo terms.

What it looks like

  • ·Co-published stories with shared receipts
  • ·Data hand-offs to local-beat reporters
  • ·Embargoed pre-publication briefings
  • ·Cross-newsroom investigative consortia

Infrastructure & in-kind

Operational support that lets us focus on the work.

Google for Nonprofits

DriveAwareness is a verified Google for Nonprofits partner. The program provides a $10,000 / month Google Ad Grant and Google Workspace for Nonprofits — search visibility for our investigations and the editorial infrastructure that runs the newsroom. See /support for the full acknowledgement.

Current state

We're early on the institutional side. That's the honest framing.

DriveAwareness is publishing today and building the academic, state, federal, foundation, and editorial roster in parallel. If you represent an institution that fits one of the tracks above, this page is the on-ramp. We'll list active partners here as relationships formalize, with the consent of each.
